Gastroenterology

One of the great benefits of having a gastroenterology procedure at Fremont Surgery Center is our state-of-the-art equipment, including high-definition endoscopy instruments which allows for excellent visualization of the GI tract.  Our physicians take pictures which will be shared with you after your procedure.

Fremont Surgery Center was one of the first facilities in California to offer non-invasive treatment of severe heartburn, or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), by endoscopic suturing, a procedure that repairs a faulty valve in the digestive tract without cutting the patient. Today Fremont Surgery Center is one of only a few surgery centers in Northern California that perform 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring with the Bravo capsule for accurate diagnosis of GERD. Another procedure that is unique to our center is infrared coagulation for hemorrhoid treatment. And, for patients suffering from bile duct stones, Fremont Surgery Center is also able to safely perform ERCP.

Some common procedures include:

- EGD

- Colonoscopy

- Infrared coagulation of hemorrhoids

- Esophageal banding

- Esophageal dilation
