Medical Standards

Fremont Surgery Center's Medical Advisory Board carefully screens all physicians who apply for privileges at our center. All physicians are certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties, are fully credentialed by local hospitals and national health plans, and are members in good standing of the local medical community.

The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is an organization of 24 approved medical specialty boards. The intent of the certification of physicians is to provide assurance to the public that those certified by an ABMS Member Board have successfully completed an approved training program and an evaluation process assessing their ability to provide quality patient care in the specialty. The ABMS serves to coordinate the activities of its Member Boards and to provide information to others concerning issues involving specialization and certification of medical specialists.

Our comprehensive Quality Assurance Program maintains excellent standards of care. The Center is licensed by the State of California, certified by Medicare, in the process of becoming accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, and maintains the highest industry standard for ambulatory surgery centers.
